Jorge Martin Has No Problem to Switch from Ducati to Yamaha

Jorge Martin is in the interest of Yamaha and that the Japanese manufacturer are very keen to persuade the Pramac Racing rider to become Fabio Quartararo’s teammate within the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team from 2024 are therefore becoming stronger.

“The rider market is constantly changing and everyone is talking to each other. I’m open to everything. For staying with Ducati for a change. We will see.” Martin said.

“My big goal now is mainly to fight for victories again and maybe even for the 2023 MotoGP world title. Only then do you think about a change.” Martin added.

Martin has signed a renewed two-year deal with Ducati in 2022. But there is a chance that the Pramac Racing rider will not serve out his current contract and may be active on a Yamaha as early as 2024.

If Martin makes the switch from Ducati to Yamaha after the 2023 MotoGP season, this will almost certainly be at the expense of Franco Morbidelli.

The Italian had a disappointing 2022 season and will have to be there immediately during the first Grand Prix weekends of the coming season in order to qualify for a longer stay with his current employer.

Morbidelli’s contract expires at the end of 2023, and it is expected that Yamaha will make a choice early in the coming season as to who should become Quartararo’s teammate in 2024.

Martin’s manager Albert Valera has included a clause in the contract that the Spaniard can personally end the deal after a year and for another manufacturer in 2024.

However, Martin’s comments are becoming increasingly clear, gradually taking on the character of an open application, but Yamaha will not aim its arrows exclusively at the current Pramac Racing rider.
