Pierre Gasly Expresses Confidence in His Future within Formula 1

Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly, along with several others, is in the final year of his contract, making this a pivotal season for his future in the sport. Discussions are underway, and the driver market could see significant changes this year.

As the reminder looms that 2024 marks his final year under contract with the Alpine team, Gasly admitted the necessity to excel to secure his future in the top-tier category of racing.

“I want to be the best I can. I want to deliver the best job I can for the team, with the car I get given.” Gasly said.

“Over the years, I feel I have improved myself, in the way I’m working with the team, with more experience, the way I’m approaching, and dealing with F1 challenges.

“I’m feeling a lot more complete than I was a few years ago. [I’m in] my prime, I’ve just turned 28. I’m feeling physically and mentally very well.” he added.

Gasly boasts a strong track record in F1, highlighted by his race-winning performance for AlphaTauri at Monza in 2020.

Eager to consistently contend for podium finishes, Gasly has demonstrated compatibility with his teammates in the past.

Consequently, discussions with Mercedes are on the horizon as the Silver Arrows assess their choices.

Despite recently turning 28, Gasly is confident in his abilities and feels primed for the challenges ahead.

Gasly revealed ongoing discussions and emphasises the need for more than just the start of the season to determine his next move, hinting at multiple potential paths ahead.

Reflecting on his experience with the new Alpine car, Gasly lamented a less than ideal week of testing marred by interruptions due to red flags.

Furthermore, on the final day of pre-season testing, an aerodynamic component of his A524 came loose on the track, leading to extensive repairs by the French manufacturer’s team.
