The Memphis Grizzlies ran over the Phoenix Suns and maintained the great phase led by Ja Morant. Playing at home, the Grizzlies won by 136 to 106.
The Memphis team reached ten straight wins and remained in the Western Conference’s vice-leadership. By contrast, the Suns have lost nine of their last 10 games and are still in freefall this season.
Still lacking Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Cameron Johnson, the Phoenix team was easy opponent. After all, the home team settled the bill in the third period, when it opened 19 points (107 to 88). Thus, the last period was merely protocol.
A standout for the Grizzlies, Ja Morant did a little bit of everything on the court and helped crush the Suns. He was the best scorer in the duel, performed skillfully, killed five balls from the perimeter and, to boot, made fun of some opponents.
However, Desmond Bane was lethal on offense, with 28 points and ten baskets on 12 attempted field goal attempts. In contrast, Jaren Jackson Jr. drew attention in defense, with six blocks in 25 minutes.
The Phoenix team, on the other hand, showed a lot of defensive fragility, so much so that they suffered 66 points in the paint. Thus, the team led by Monty Williams is only 12th in the West. Therefore, a considerable decline, as the Suns had the best campaign in the league last season (64-18).
