How to Organise a Table Tennis Tournament

Whether for the simple pleasure of the exchange or for the taste of the challenge, table tennis will meet everyone’s desires: to experience a simple moment of sharing or to feel the intensity and pressure of a match.

Place at the session

16 players, from 6 years old. Respect age groups (6-12 years, and 13 years and more). Works both indoors and outdoors.

Below you will find a results grid for 16 players, with a draft table for everyone to play at least two games.

The grids are adaptable to doubles matches. To minimise the wait, play matches in a single set of 11 points.

Time & rounds: 1h30 to 2 hours On the pitch

The player who loses on the Main Draw in the Round of 16 or Quarter-Final ends up on the Second Chance Draw.

In the first round, play all eighths on both table tennis tables. From the second round, reserve a table for the main tournament and a table for the second chance tournament.

You can also set up various activities related to this sport such as spinning! The goal is to be last around the table.

It is always the side where there are the most players that makes the 1st service. The player who played the ball quickly moves across the table clockwise. The player who does not return the ball is eliminated, until there are only 2 players left.

Both players will compete in a 3-point match, and the winner will win 1 life that he can use in a future match to avoid being eliminated.

Difficulty 1: To spice up the game, the eliminated players can put their racket on the table. If one of the balls bounces on it, the player reenters the game.

Difficulty 2: The players are forced to play with only 2 rackets, placed on each side of the table. The player picks up the racket, hits the ball and puts the racket down before reaching the other side of the table.
