Guardiola Believes Arsenal Is Doing Better Than Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has denied the idea that Manchester City has no rival in the title race in the 2022/23 Premier League season.

City are leading the Premier League table with 23 points. In the nine matches played. Meanwhile, Arsenal are sitting at second with 21 points.

However, City manager Guardiola insisted his team at the moment cannot compare with Arsenal and the title race is still very long.

“Arsenal have been better than us so far. We’re not top of the league but the important thing is to be there and try to fight.” Guardiola said.

The new signing Erling Haaland and his record of 20 goals in 13 games in all competitions, including a record-breaking three consecutive hat-tricks at home, filling the gap left by former goalscorer Sergio Aguero, creating the feeling that City are unstoppable on the tracks this season.

Guardiola told every year City improve in some way. However, fans should not be satisfied after only nine rounds of the 2022/23 Premier League, especially when the team has not won the top position.

However, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager seems more satisfied when talking about the Champions League group stage.

City are leading Group G with three wins, scoring 11 goals and only one goal conceded. Meanwhile Borrusia Dortmund are sitting at second with six points.

If the Skyblues win at Copenhagen next week, they can soon win tickets to the round of 16. However, Guardiola’s side need to win more good results against Dortmund to secure the top spot.

“We are in a dream position. We have one win left to qualify for the last 16 and we have to fight, I think against Dortmund, to finish first. That is also important. important,” Guardiola said.
