The Golden State Warriors faced another setback when they were humiliated in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
The Warriors forward Draymond Green wasn’t kind when talking about the officiating after the game.
“The game stopped. We on the free-throw line every time,” Green said.
The situation happened, the second quarter. The Warriors won by 11 points, but a series of events changed everything in a matter of minutes.
First, the Lakers reacted with Anthony Davis and LeBron James making three baskets (six points) and two free throws. Then, Davis blocked a Moses Moody shot, which landed on the ground. Then Moody grabbed the Los Angeles center’s foot.
As a result, the officiating called two technical fouls against the Warriors. The first, blatant, for the act.
The second, according to the rule to stop counterattacks. Austin Reaves then closed the gap to one. LeBron turned it over with a three-up, 42-40, and then Donte DiVincenzo evened it out.
That was Warriors’ only basket in about six minutes. There were ten missed shots in 11 attempts, in addition to four attack errors.
However, Green and JaMyChal Green, frustrated with the refereeing, took the technique and left the Warriors in serious danger of losing. Just there, the Lakers scored 22 to 2. At the end of the first half, the team was leading by 59 to 48.
However, for Stephen Curry, what resulted in the defeat was the break in the rhythm of the game. The star believes that the Lakers cooled the match, causing Warriors to lose itself mentally.
Green was then asked if he was satisfied with the way that the referees called the game.
“It is what it is. Game over now. Don’t matter if I’m satisfied or don’t matter.” Green said.
